Athlete Photography Session: What to Expect From a One-Hour Athlete Media Shoot

4 min read

A one-hour Athlete Media session with NoLackinLifestyle LLC is a planned shoot that gives you 15 edited photos and 1 short clip you can post right away. You book it, plan the shot list with us, shoot for an hour and receive your edited content within 5 business days. It is for college and adult athletes, 18 and over, in Philadelphia and the greater Philadelphia area. Here is how it works from start to finish.

The four steps

We keep the process simple so you know what is happening at each stage.

  • Step 1, book. You book a session and tell us what the content is for, whether that is recruiting, your personal brand or a brand pitch.

  • Step 2, plan. We build a shot list with you, so the hour is spent on the images you need.

  • Step 3, shoot. We shoot your one-hour session.

  • Step 4, delivery. You receive your edited content within 5 business days.

What you receive

Every session includes 15 edited photos and 1 short clip of 15 to 30 seconds, cropped for Instagram and TikTok. The session price is $300 for one hour. Cancellations and reschedules need at least 24 hours of notice.

The clip is short on purpose. A 15 to 30 second video is easy for a coach, a follower or a brand contact to watch in full. The photos give you a set of current images for profiles, announcements and your athletic resume. Together they give you a small, usable library from a single hour, instead of one lucky shot.

Who it is for

The session is built for college athletes, including transfers and walk-ons, adult league and semi-pro athletes, and athletes preparing a brand or NIL pitch. If you already have game film but little content that shows who you are, this fills that gap. Our post on why game film alone is not enough anymore explains the thinking behind it.

How to prepare for your shoot

A little preparation makes the hour more useful. These are practical tips, and we will plan the details with you when you book.

  • Decide the purpose first. A recruiting set and a brand pitch ask for different images.

  • Write down three to five shots you want, such as an action pose, a training moment and a clean portrait.

  • Check your team or school rules about uniforms and logos before you choose what to wear.

  • Bring more than one outfit or look if you want variety.

  • Arrive warmed up, hydrated and rested so your movement looks natural.

An example of how an hour can be used

Every athlete's plan is different, and we set the shot list with you. As an example only, an athlete preparing a recruiting profile might ask for a mix like this.

  • A few clean portraits that work as a profile photo.

  • Action poses in the movements that define your sport or position.

  • Training detail shots, such as lifting, sprinting or footwork.

  • One short clip built to hold attention in the first seconds.

  • A couple of relaxed frames that show personality, not only intensity.

Having a rough order in mind keeps the shoot moving and leaves time to repeat a shot that matters most to you.

Using your content

You can post your content and use it for recruiting and your personal brand. Brand use depends on what we agree with you. If your content is tied to a brand deal, read the contract terms carefully and confirm the current rules with your school's compliance office before you post. Our guide on what a NIL deal is actually worth covers what to look at before you agree to anything.

Content helps you present yourself clearly. It does not guarantee offers, deals or results, and we do not promise any.

After the shoot: getting value from it

Do not post everything on day one. Pick the strongest portrait for your profile photo, spread the rest across a few weeks and use the short clip where people will see it first. Keep the full set organized by purpose, so a recruiting email, a profile update and a sponsor pitch each have the right images ready. Add the best frames to your athlete resume or media kit, and refresh your set when your season or role changes.
